Third Year

The last three years of Suspend Judgement have created such a profound sense of duty in me. A duty to continue and share the stories of those who were perpetrated against during the Holocaust, and those who continue to experience the effects of systematic genocide, generations after the fact. As witnesses, we pledge to learn and share our learning to all who seek to know more, so that we can create a community of people who understand the value of education, while never forgetting the past.

- A student’s reflections

What does it mean to be a witness?

In the third year of the program, students are asked the question ‘What does it mean to be a witness?’.

Through deep, philosophical discussion about what they believe it means to be a witness, students streamline their thoughts and share with the group. Mostly student led, students discuss ideas and thoughts, and plan their projects. The third year projects are seen as a culmination of all of their learning, while highlighting their role as a witness.
